Apparently Josiah Spode added this pattern to his catalogue in response to demand for replacement pieces for Chinese imported services.
This gadroon edged dinner plate is in good condition no chips or cracks but does have much rubbing on the rim of the centre panel It carries the clear cartouche mark of the Spode Factory.
