Superb example of the parian style Moulded jug of the Charles Meigh factory. In very good condition with no chips
or cracks only some light brown speckling in parts of the glaze. Carries the Diamond registation mark and the pewter lid bears
the mark of A. BROADHEAD& Co. The subject of the moulding are of Water nymphs frolicking in Bullrushes reminiscent of
Kingsleys novel "The Water Babies"and the clarity of the figures suggests it was one of the earliest pieces from the mould.
Ref: Registered Mark June 13th 1856 , parcel 3, moulded jug.
